Degree Types
Doctor of Psychology (PsyD)
Our Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree was one of the first of its kind in the nation. It is a dedicated, practice-focused clinical psychology program built on four pillars: rigorous academic coursework, in-house clinical work, community-based clinical work and departmental mentorship. This approach produces well-rounded professionals with the skills necessary to help transform communities and lives.
The program provides practitioner-scholars with a foundation in scientific and interpersonal skills applicable to a variety of settings and populations, and allows each graduate to pursue meaningful, impactful work.
Master of Arts (MA)
GSPP’s Master of Arts degrees have grown with our school, to match the increasing demand for practitioners and scholars in specific areas of the mental health and wellness fields. Our master’s programs give students a strong psychological foundation while focusing on an area of interest that will help them serve specific communities. They place an emphasis on principals of diversity and inclusion, and we give our students the opportunity to take part in extensive fieldwork that prepares them for the challenges ahead.
Within each of our MA programs, students can find flexibility through elective coursework and specialized training. Options include Forensic Psychology, International Disaster Psychology: Trauma and Global Mental Health, Sport and Performance Psychology and Sport Coaching (online).
