Brie Kohrt earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology in 2013 from The Catholic University of America. She completed her internship at The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center, and postdoctoral fellowship at Emory University. She is presently an Assistant Professor in the International Disaster Psychology program at the University of Denver. She is passionate about increasing the quality of training for mental health professionals who will provide services in Spanish, and increasing access to culturally appropriate assessment and treatment for Latino populations domestically and abroad. Her research focuses on closing gaps to mental health care for the Latinx community in the U.S. and in low-resource communities in Latin America.She has worked with Latinx communities across the United States, and has worked internationally in Guatemala and Peru. She is presently engaged in a research project examining the efficacy of an adapted perinatal depression program for use in a Mayan community in Guatemala. Dr.Kohrt also directs a Spanish for mental health training program in Peru called PASEO, www.paseoprogram.com
